A Cathartic Space

Exciting sword fights, inspiring speeches, tragic death scenes—to a theater audience these moments happen like magic as a play glides from one act to the next. But to the cast and crew, the performance is a culmination of weeks, months, even years of hard work and preparation. The new BYU Broadcasting program A Cathartic Space explores that preparation by going backstage with the cast and crew of Angels Unaware: A Story of Joan of Arc, an original BYU production. Join producer Andy Lorimer as he follows the crew into their workshops and rehearsals, including interviews with the director, choreographer, and the writer, BYU graduate Melissa Leilani Larson, to better understand the work that goes into a stage production.
